Join for fun, educational bike tours through The City Beautiful. Each tour offers a different theme and route! Tours start at the Coral Gables Museum and include museum admission. Bike tours are presented by Bike Walk Coral Gables in partnership with the Coral Gables Museum. You will need to bring your own bike. Helmets are required for children under 16.

Kick off Coral Gables’ Centennial Year with this special centennial themed ride. We will visit some of the homes built in 1925, the year the City Beautiful was incorporated. After the ride you will see the special message we create on our ride!
Feb 16: Bahamian History Tour
Join our tour guide Mayor Vince Lago as we explore the historic area where the Bahamian settlers resided who were crucial in the creation of Coral Gables 100 years ago. Held during Black History month, learn about the history of the Bahamian immigrants in the MacFarlane Homestead Historic District, the beginnings of the neighborhood and the stories the original buildings tell.
Mar 16: Bike & BBQ – A Cycle Day Event
Join us for the most popular bike tour of the year: a centennial ride to Matheson Hammock Park and picnic at the historic pavilion. This tour leaves from the Coral Gables Youth Center (405 University Dr, Coral Gables). Presented in partnership with the City of Coral Gables and Dade Heritage Trust.
Apr 27: UM Centennial Tour (1925)
The University of Miami’s Coral Gables Campus is a treasure trove of architecture, history, and natural beauty. In celebration the centennial anniversary of UM charter, we will visit the best of the old and new and look ahead into the future.
May 18: Downtown Walking Tour
Join our tour guide, former Mayor Don Slesnick, on this leisurely walk to celebrate the 100-year history of the downtown hub of Coral Gables where some of the iconic historical buildings still exist.
Jun 15: George Merrick’s Birthday Tour
We will celebrate the birthday of our city’s founder, George Merrick by touring the city’s birthplace and namesake as part of the city’s centennial celebration. Our ride will highlight the Merrick family history in Coral Gables.
Jul 20: George Merrick’s Fountains, Waterways and Parks – A Cycle Day Event
Satisfy your thirst for adventure on a cool ride led by Commissioner Rhonda Anderson around some of Coral Gables’ most beautiful liquid assets. We will see the waterway and other important water features including the historic Venetian Pool and the majestic De Soto Fountain. Presented in partnership with the City of Coral Gables. This tour leaves from the Coral Gables Youth Center.
Aug 17: Canopy tour – George Merrick’s Vision
Enjoy a leisurely ride down some of Gables’ shadiest streets, many of which are lined by trees planted by George Merrick 100 years ago! On this tour, guided by a local expert, you will learn about the lush treescape that makes Coral Gables the “City Beautiful”.
Sep 21: George Merrick’s Entrances
Our tour guide, former City Commissioner Ralph Cabrera, will take us to see the grand entrances that were part of George Merrick’s masterplan 100 years ago to impress City visitors. Visit those magnificent gateways and learn some fun facts about local history and architecture, including the political connections Merrick had to the construction of the Tamiami Trail.
Oct 19: Historic Buildings of Phineas Paist
Phineas Paist (1873-1937) was the supervising architect for the Coral Gables Corporation during the founding of the City 100-years ago. His buildings include City Hall, the Venetian Pool, the Colonnade Building, and the San Sebastian Apartment Hotel. His work is part of the glue that holds the image of Coral Gables together.
Nov 16: Historic Homes
Many of the City’s most beautiful and historic homes date back to Coral Gables’ founding 100-years ago. Join us as we bike along the City’s beautiful tree-lined residential streets to visit these historic gems.
Dec 21: George Merrick’s Villages
Did you know that after George Merrick founded th City of Coral Gables 100 years ago, he planned 14 international-themed villages for Coral Gables, but only seven were built? You will be amazed at the architectural styles from around the world that exist right here in our own backyard.
